Can Hallstatt be done as a day trip?

Yes. At around 3¼ hours each way, you still have several hours on site. We recommend an early start.

Can we stop along the way?

Of course, for example in Gmunden, Bad Ischl or St. Wolfgang. Just let us know your wishes when you enquire.
